2009 March 31

Baby Diarrhea is a result of a poisoned, infected, or irritated digestive track or digestive system. When a baby’s body is exposed to a toxic substances it’s first response is to expel the substance by excreting extra fluids into the the intestines which causes an increased amount of intestinal contractions. The result is an increased volume of loose watery stools known as baby diarrhea. Most cases of simple diarrhea should not be suppresses to quickly since it may be healthier to allow your babies body to flush it itself clean. Remember, while baby diarrhea is uncomfortable; it is much better than the alternative which is to have the toxins remain in the body. Because the diarrhea is just the baby’s body doing what it needs to expel the toxin; therefore, it is not recommended to give your baby over the counter antidiarrhea medicine unless otherwise directed by your Doctor.

As always it is best to consult your doctor or physician before treating your child.
