My friend is 39 weeks pregnant. She had diarrhea yesterday and had a low grade fever. Is this onset labor?
has been nauseated (sp), due may 5th, 4th child, first girl, pelvic pressure, doctor said that they can feel the baby. is diarrhea a sign of onset labor? Also….cervix thinner, but has never been real thin b4 more dilated in back than in front

It is hard to say whether or not she is in labor, Do you know if she is dialated any at all? If so then she could be in labor. I was having diarrhea and pelvic pressure and my doctor said he could feel my baby’s head, but the first 3 times I went to the hospital in pain, they told me that I was not in labor and wasnt even dialated. Let your friend know that if she even has the smallest suspision that she is in labor and she gets the urge to push, absolutely DO NOT PUSH if she pushes at a low dialation, and before the hospital tells her she is ready, it will knock her back down to a zero or one (really low) on her dialation. The only other advice I can give is to go to the hospital and let them decide, they will keep her if she is ready, or send her home if she isnt.

Sounds like she is sick. Diarhrea can be the onset of labour, but fever isn’t. She may want to get checked by dr. If it is labour and she has a fever it can be group b strep and she will need antibiotics so baby wont get sick.

It could be labor. It could also be, “I’m-Sick-Of-Pregnancy-Itis”. Baby can’t stay in there forever.
