I went to the doctor today because of diarrhea/vomitting for the last 2 weeks. My doctor didnt do any test or anything except asked a couple of questions and said i dont think u have a bacterial virus, that was it. Then she listened to my stomach for a sec. and said i had a hyper-active stomach. Last time i was @ the doctors was oct. 1 and i did a urine test and it was negative but i had sex a couple times in sept., oct., and nov. but i had a period (but i know people who had periods while pregnant) so my question is could i maybe pregnant? could my hyper-active stomach been a baby or not? i know i should take a test cus i will and ima try to get a new doctor but just wanted any suggestions or stories? i was just mad that she didnt do ****! then she was like oh yea its no point your probably not pregnant and no need to do a pelvic exam because it will cause more diarrhea or give you an infection so im not going to do it, i was like wtf?

I just got a stomach bug the other day, I was vomiting about every 20 mins and also had diarrhea which all lasted about 12 hours or so. It’s been about 24 hours since I started feeling a lot better, but now I just feel kind of blah and the few times I’ve gone to the bathroom it’s been diarrhea. But nothing like before. So I don’t know if I should attribute this to my hormones or still being sick. Basically what this all boils down to is that I have a grandma sick in the hospital and a friend who just had a baby last night in that same hospital and I want to go visit them but I’m not sure if I’m still contagious. I haven’t gotten to see my grandma in there yet because I’ve been sick and I figure today would be a good day to just go and visit everyone at once but I don’t want to risk getting anyone sick. What should I do?

Last week on Thursday morning in the middle of the night, my daughter who is 1 year old started vomiting. She had picked up the virus from me. We took her to the doctor and the doctor advised us to give her 1 ounce of pedialyte, water or gatorade ever 20 minutes for 24 hours. No food. Just those liquids. We did this for 24 hours and slowly started to introduce foods to her. Well she still vomits every day and now she has Diarrhea as of this evening. I know diarrhea is usually a bad thing, but I was wondering if possible it was a sign of her virus ending. She still has wet diapers, and tears when she cries so I know shes not dangerously dehydrated. But we do have trouble getting her to drink the liquids as well. She’s doesn’t seem to want them all the time. This is so hard for us as this is our first baby. Any help would be great. Thanks

My 2.5 year old has been horribly sick for the past 5 days with vomiting and diarrhea, and another family member is sick with a different stomach bug as well. I’m terrified my 8 week old will get it and it will be very serious for her. Can anyone shed some light on how babies this young handle a stomach bug? Would she have to go to the hospital? We are nursing, so does that protect her or is she still at risk?
