We have recently bought a 3 week old puppy – a Labrador crossbreed. It was directly separated from litter and has been with us for the past 4 days. The Vet said it was ok to separate the baby from the mother and so we brought it home. It eats well, has good appetite and walks/smells people. We give it Pedigree Puppy weaning food mixed with diluted milk.
Only yesterday we noticed that it shivers at night, especially while sleeping. Though we try to give it as much warmth as possible, the shivering has not stopped. But when it walks, it is ok. Today, we notice that it has a dark brown stool. It has relived 3 times today evening itself. Seems like it has diarrhea. What is wrong with the puppy? Vet said over phone it maybe indigestion and asks us to give it water for rehydration.I’m really worried. Though it has been for a few days, it has grown close to us. I cant take it to the Vet today and tomorrow also. Please tell me any home made remedy which can cure my little pup.
Note: It has not been given any shots so far – in fact we are planning to give one day after tomorrow. Also, it has quite a number of fleas on its skin.

He just turned four last week, and has always had trouble with potty training (peeing, not pooping).
Now he is pretty sick and is feeling rotten. He’s asleep most of the time and when he wakes up he’s just like a little baby, not being able to do anything for himself.
The first bout of diarrhea he tried to run to the potty and didn’t make it. With the second he just dirtied the sheets.
Should I put him in diapers? It feels like I’m going backwards with potty training as I have been really trying hard to help him perfect his potty training lately, but it’s just really disgusting and he can’t make it to the potty quick enough.

My baby is 4 weeks old and is exclusively breastfeed. She has loose bowels (looks like diarrhea, sorry!) and as usual, older people give you advise when you have a baby. My grandmother says it’s not normal for her bowels to be that way and that they should be more pasty like, but my grandmother breastfeed over 50 years ago!!! My baby’s Dr. says it’s perfectly normal with breastfeed babies.
I was just wondering if any other moms who are also exclusively breastfeeding have noticed this same thing in their baby? Is this really normal? In addition, my baby also passes gas and slightly poops with each gas….. (sorry again!) is this normal? Dr. says it is.
Thank you all.
Serious answers please!!

She isnt cranky or anything just a happy baby. But when she poops it is very watery, she also has GAS BAD!! I have given her the gas drops. But what can i do about the diarrhea? I thought it might have been something she ate but I havent given her anything new. Alot of my friends have told me that if she has a tooth trying to come through she might have the squirts..She doesnt have any teeth yet. So what can I do? Let it run its course or is there anything I can give her. BTW I have already spoke with my dr and he said if she still has them by Thursday to bring her in.Any Advice?

My son has been having diarrhea for three weeks now. The first three days, he had more than ten, the succeeding days two to four diarrhea, but his stools are still soft and runny. He has no vomiting, no fever and no signs of dehydration, and his activity level remained the same. We took him to the pedia the second day and was asked to submit urine and stool for lab tests, but urinalysis and fecalysis were normal. Appetite is still the same although I was asked to dilute his milk and to give Flagyl for ten days and Erceflora for five days. Although his diarrhea lessened a bit after those medications, they’re still loose, very runny and very soft. I let him eat wheat bread, yogurt, banana, apple, and Cerelac to “add” bulk to the stool, so to speak, and also let him drink Yakult, but stool consistency (loose and somewhat runny) and duration (two to four times a day) remained the same.
Some moms told me that he’s maybe cutting a tooth, so I checked his gums and sure enough the area where the canine teeth are going to erupt are somewhat swollen, but they’re far far reaching the end of the gum though. He’s also drooling, biting on things, putting his fingers in his mouth, etc. They also told me that the most difficult period for a baby who’s teething is when the canines are erupting, and it can cause fever, diarrhea, vomiting, etc. When his first six teeth erupted, he’s also had fever and vomiting.
He’s definitely teething right now, but can teething cause diarrhea this long?! What else can I do? Please help! I’m nearly at my wits end with his diarrhea, and it pains me to see him suffer from diarrhea rash.

For the past 5 days my 5 month old son has not been feeling well. He’s been vomiting after his bottles, I’m not talking spit up, real full out projectile vomiting. Then he started having blow out diarrhea several times a day. So yesterday on day 4 I took him to the Dr. The Ped. didn’t seem that concerned. He said he’ll get over it in 5 to 7 days from when it started and told me to give him Pedilyte between bottles. So all day yesterday I did that. When i gave him his bottles of formula I would only give him 2 and 3 oz. at a time. Well this morning I wake up to another blowout diarrhea diaper and had to give him a bath. I had just got him dressed and was settling into my bed w/him to give him some more Pedilyte and he threw up all over the place. I just don’t feel like this his a virus. It’s day 5 and I’m not seeing any improvement at all. What is going on????
