Only 6 Weeks Old And Switched To Similac Isomil Advanced. Now She Has Diarrhea. Help??
2009 September 1
Our daughter breastfeeds and alternates feedings with a bottle of Similac Isomil Advanced. For two days she has pooped with every diaper change and sometimes right after being changed. It looks like it could be diarrhea. Anyone else go through this with a baby so young?? Help? Advice??

My son is on that formula also and has had diarrhea that looks pea green, it is because of the iron in the formula is what I was told.
I am just happy he doesn’t get colic or constipation
your baby is only 6 weeks old and breastfeed along with isomil. breastfeed babies poop a lot and it will look watery yellow/orange color. it will alomst look like diarreaha however its normal. also what was the reaon she was switched to a soy formula. babies can actually be allergic or not tolerate soy. have you tried gentelease by enfamil? its a milk based formula, or enfamil a.r? they tried every formula under the son for son at first thinking he wasnt able to handel the milk based product becuase he would spit it up, however he ended up staying on enfamil a.r it is thicker. also is there any pictular reasoning on giving the baby formula verces the breast. as i know you are aware but babies handel breastmilk wayyyyyyy better than any formula. also it takes an entire 3 days of only formula for a baby to regulate when changing formula, so since you do breastfeed you should try to give it a few more days. i seriously had had these problems with my son. i ended up breastfeeding him till he was 7 months old, until my milk dried up, and was forced to find a formula that works. if you want you can email me with any questions.
My baby did the same thing and the doctor told me it was totally normal. After about a week everything was back to normal.
