The child could be in danger of dehydration. Take the baby to the doctor ASAP if not sooner

When my babies were little, when they had diarrhea, the do said to give them bananas to eat. Also give then pedialyte to keep from dehydrating. You can get these in the popsicle form now. Keep your eye on your baby tonight.

Pedialite and lots of fluids are the recommended course of treatment.

A baby should wet at least 6-8 wet diapers a day. If not, they are dehydrated and need to be seen by a doctor ASAP. If your baby is wetting diapers OK. Push Pedialyte and as long as your baby does not throw up again, you can call your pediatrician first thing in the morning. If your baby can’t hold down Pedialye and is not wetting diapers, take your child to the ER.

well, whatever you do, don’t give your baby fruit…it’ll make the diarrhea worse(fruit loosens the stool)…except for bananas…i would figure out how much fruit i’ve given him/her in last 24 hrs…and maybe even taking all fruit but bananas away…i found that bananas helped to harden up the poop more…you can try some oatmeal, it tends to make the baby’s stool harder…
in terms of the vomiting, i’d probably burp the baby after every couple of ounces of formula b/c formula tends to give lots of gas…also, after you burp him/her, then i would feel his/her tummy and see how hard it is…you may be feeding him/her too much…
also, i don’t know how old your baby is, but i guess it would be safe to give him/her pedialyte…if he/she’s younger water it down a little…this will help to replace the electrolytes that your baby loses during diarrhea or vomiting…
just monitor what you’re feeding him/her b/c maybe he/she doesn’t like it or it’s hurting his/her stomach and therefore, chucking it back up…
if this keeps up, i’d contact my doc…but hopefully if you try what i suggested his/her bad stuff will go away… :)

If your baby is breastfeeding I would certainly encourage that. Breastfeeding will help to prevent diarrhea.
It really depends on the age of your baby, but rehydrating is important for any age.
Consult a doctor if it continues and your baby seems dehydrated and/or lethargic.
(Don’t forget to use a good diaper cream as diarrhea can cause a very painful rash making it even harder to get through the night.)

lots of fluids like pedialite. baby may have rota virus if it continues (which can take about 7 days to get rid of). I would go to the doctor and find out for sure what is going on though.

IF it doesn’t get better I would take the baby to the doctor. How old is your baby? It all kind of depends on the age of the baby. I would try to force a little bit of liquids to prevent dehydration.
My daughter loves pedialyte. There are the drinks, and the ice pops. If she doesn’t want anything, I would try using a syringe and giving her a teaspoon at a time.
Watch the eyes, diapers, and mouth.
    Signs of dehydration:
    no tears when (s)he cries
    lack of wet diapers (urine)
    no saliva in the mouth
If she has any of these signs, I would take the baby to the ER. Just try pushing liquids and if it doesn’t get any better or worsens, then contact her dr.

You didn’t say how old your baby is and that make answering a little more difficult.
If your baby is a newborn/very young, you should call your pediatrician.
If your baby is older/more toward 1 yr, then I would adopt a wait and see attitude and call the doc in the am. Give him bananas and applesauce if you can and if he can keep it down.
Regardless, it is gonna be a long nite.
    God bless and Good luck!

just make sure your baby doesn’t get dehydrated. Keep up fluids and all u can do is be there to comfort them. Depending on the age of the child take them to the doctors if it lasts much longer
