Please take your baby to the ER now! dehydration can get serious very quickly in an infant that young, you don’t want to wait around. There is alot of intestinal flu going around. I was in the ER at a childrens hospital with my 15month old last night for these same symptoms.

Get the baby to the doctor NOW! He may have a virus and can get seriously dehydrated very very quickly. Get some pedialyte into him while you’re waiting for the doctor to see him

I would go to the dr to see if he/she is ill. I would also maybe give him/her pedialite as if they are vomiting and having diarrhea they may be dehydrated. if he/she is ill then maybe the dr could suggest something. my daughter was that way when she was 6 months and the drs did nothing but told us as long as she was getting fluids that she will be ok.also if his/her soft spot is very sunk in then that is a sign of dehydration. Hope all goes well!

If your baby is really having diarrhea 10-15 times per day, there is a problem. It could be nothing more than a virus, but with a small baby, that could be serious. Because I am not there, I am going to give you some questions to ask yourself, and then give you the answers…..
Is your baby vomiting, or spitting up? If it is spitting up (even excessively) is this something that has been going on for awhile, or just a few days? If it has been going on for awhile, then perhaps a change in formula is the answer (like to a soy, for example). Is the diarrhea a chronic thing, or new? If it is a new thing, then you need to feel the “soft spot” on the top of the baby’s head. If it feels sunken in (does not feel spongy), then you need to call your baby’s physician right away. Your baby’s behavior is another important thing to watch. Is baby acting “normal” for what you are used to? If not, you need to call your pediatrician. Has baby had a temp?
My advice is to relate to the previous questions. If your pediatrician is unaware of these issues, or if they are new (within the last week), you need to call your pediatrician. While I don’t think this is a serious problem, babies can dehydrate at a much faster rate than adults… even if they are maintaining their normal intake. I do NOT want to worry you, but I want you to have all info!

Your baby could be allergic to milk. Mine was, and had to be given a synthetic milk, such as Similac while on the bottle.

Hello! I am sorry you are having a hard time with your baby. Don’t get frustrated tho, this is all a part of being a mom. The vomiting is normal, as long as it not projectile vomiting, where it shoots out and makes an “arc.” The diarrhea is another problem. If I were you I would call the doctor and speak over the phone TONIGHT. The diarrhea can cause dehydration, which is extremely serious in an infant that young. I have had the same situation a few times. When my baby gets bad diarrhea, my pediatrician always reccommends to stop the formula and start pedialyte, so that the baby will stop pooping and start rehydrating. I cannot stress enough to you to make sure the baby gets something in him/her to hydrate, a baby can become very very sick from being dehydrating. Okay, now that I am doe ranting I have another bit of advice for you: My daughter is going on 8 months, and last month she had a week long spell of severe diarrhea. As if this wasn’t bad enough, because we were changing the diaper so frequently, she developed a diaper rash. Now, she hash the rash and is pooping all over 8 times a day, so her bum got badly infected. We immediately took her to the doctor and she forbid us using disposable diapers, switched us to cloth ones, gave us 2 creams and an antibiotic to clear the infection. So moral of the story, with one bad thing, follows another. Watch for a rash.
    Good Luck!

That is normal the first month or so and if you are breastfeeding. But 3 months? That’s a little old. Even if you’re breastfeeding now, that is still too much. Go to the doctor. It is better to get it checked than to regret not going at all!!!
