Is Diarrhea Normal???
2009 October 15
I went with my best friend to her sisters last night. Her older sister is in her 1st. trimester. So we started talking about the new baby. Then she told us that she is having bad diarrhea…..I was just wondering….is that normal for her to be having bad diarrhea? and if it is, can she take anything to help with it?

My best friends sister is also pregnant! She was and is constipated all of the time. I heard that if you do get Diarrhea you should go see the doctor, because ironically it can be due to dehydration (i know that doesnt sound like it makes sense but taht is how our bodies respond). anyways, is it like a one time thing or has she had is consistantly?
diarhhea isnt due to diarhea lol the person above is super confused. diarhea causes dehydration therefore she should see a doctor cause she could be dehydrated and thats not good for the little one. =] i also had diarhhea for a while in the early weeks, now im constipated. I am a medical assistant and i see a lot of pregnant women with diarhhea, early and late in pregnancy. Normally its stuff they are eating, she could have a sensitive intestional tract and its causing her to have the runs. If she gets dehydrated then she needs to see a doctor ok? if she starts feeling dizzy or having extreme stomach pains take her to the ER, or if she gets a fever. Good luck and God bless =]
She is probably dehydrated. With being pregnant, you have to make sure you drink LOTS of fluids. I had the same problem & now I am fine. Just make sure she starts drinking a lot.
Diarrhea is what finally led me to believe I was pregnant. It was waking me up in the middle of the night and I had to run to the toilet. Pregnant women always seem to be in the bathroom with bowel troubles. Drink lots of water. Eat more fruits. Wheat bread with peanut butter might help. Whole grain cereals. If it is real bad call the doctor just to see what they say. With being pregnant there is not much medications we are allowed to take so we always have to check with the doctor.
