I’m 40 Weeks Pregnant, Just Got Over A Stomach Bug, Still Have Diarrhea… Still Contagious?
I just got a stomach bug the other day, I was vomiting about every 20 mins and also had diarrhea which all lasted about 12 hours or so. It’s been about 24 hours since I started feeling a lot better, but now I just feel kind of blah and the few times I’ve gone to the bathroom it’s been diarrhea. But nothing like before. So I don’t know if I should attribute this to my hormones or still being sick. Basically what this all boils down to is that I have a grandma sick in the hospital and a friend who just had a baby last night in that same hospital and I want to go visit them but I’m not sure if I’m still contagious. I haven’t gotten to see my grandma in there yet because I’ve been sick and I figure today would be a good day to just go and visit everyone at once but I don’t want to risk getting anyone sick. What should I do?
If you still have diarrhea, I would no suggest bringing yourself around an elderly person or a new baby. They both have lower immune systems, and are more susceptible to catching whatever bug you may still have.
Have you had a fever at all? I’m 39 weeks and everything I’ve read/been told says that vomiting and diarrhea are 2 signs of prelabor. I’ve been having a pretty upset stomach too, but that’s pretty normal.
If you didn’t have a fever, you’re definitely not contagious and you are probably just getting ready to go into labor.
Good luck!
are u sure its a bug?
ive had 5 babies and those were my signs that labour was just round the corner!
i was told its ur bodies way of clearing out b4 the birth
i wouldnt risk visiting anyone sick until u been clear for 24/48hrs just incase
good luck x x
pack a bag and get ready because you are going be holding your baby soon. you usually get the runs when you are about to go into labor.
Sweetie, You do know that the two most common signs of pre labor are vomiting and diarrhea right?
