2009 November 26
im approx 7 weeks pregnant. ive been getting nausea for about 10 days and i have it every waking moment, im struggling but i dont mind if i get a healthy baby. i havent actually been sick though. did anyone else start sickness at about 5.5 weeks and if so when did it stop for you?
also i have had looser bowels than normal for 3 weeks, it tends to be on a morning, i wake up with my stomach killing but ok after ive been to the toilet. but yesterday my diarrhea was really bad, is this normal in early pregnancy?
any help, tips and advice all appreciated x

Mine started when I was 5 1/2 weeks, it got worse, stopped for about 5 days then got alot worse. Stopped at 9 weeks, then 3 days later, it was even worse again, I had to be admitted to hospital for dehydration. Im 11 weeks and 5 days, and still get morning sickness! looking forward to when its meant to get better!
I also had diarrhoea is early pregnancy, it got better after a few weeks.
Congrats! XX
I vomited 15-20 times a day from approx 5 weeks pregnant up until I was 13 weeks pregnant. You are lucky that you are only feeling sick and not actually bringing anything up!
A good tip is to eat little and often – a piece of fruit (handful or raisins, bite of banana etc) every 30 mins or so will help with the nausea. I found that as soon as I felt hungry I was sick, so keeping hunger at bay helped loads.
I am still occasionally being sick all day now and I am 32 weeks today!
Diarrhea and also constipation is very common in pregnancy
I found out that I was pregnant on wk 8, the wks before that I was not feeling well I thought I had a bug on my stomach. Now on wk 10 it was hell for me, it got a little better after that wk but I was still nauseous until wk 13. I know for a fact that some people have nausea all 9 months, I really feel for them. But as always not everyone is the same.
I did have diarrhea, which even though is not fun, I think its better than being constipated. Knock on wood! I haven’t been constipated yet and I am on my 21wk
Same over here. At first I was on fagly for bacterial infections and I thought that caused the loose bowels 2 weeks have passed since i tool the medication and my bowels seem worser and more frequent than how they were when I was on the medication. I nausea when I think about my used to be favorite foods, everytime I had sex with my long timw boyfriend it was unprotected since May 26th taking a test Friday for confirmation. Maybe you should to, just to be on the safe side.
i was the same hun and what i use to do is nibble on a ginger biscuit when i started to feel sick and it worked for me until i started being sick then i could not find anything to make it better. my morning sickness stopped at 4 month and started again at 6 month and iv still got it now and im due in 2 weeks. you can go to your doctors and get things off them for bad sicknessbecausee it can be bad for your baby being sick all the time.
With my 1st pregnancy I had morning sickness until about the middle of my pregnancy but with my 2nd I had it from beginning till end. I always ate saltine crackers and drank ginger ale, it helped a lot.
No bowel problems for me. Maybe the foods you ate before pregnancy aren’t agreeing with you stomach now that your pregnant.
I unfortunately had morning sickness the whole way through my pregnancy on and off, but diarrhoea i only had later on in pregnancy due to a virus. It can be triggered off by certain foods in pregnancy, so see if you can find the trigger. The most important thing is to make sure you stay hydrated, so drink lots of fluids and if you experience any cramping, go straight to your gp.
i had diarrhoea with my son till i was 12 weeks then i got constipated, you can never get it in between lol. with this baby i have been constipated all the way thru. no sickness with either until a few weeks ago with my baby im preg with now, i have been feeling sick since i was 13 weeks or so not all the time just odd times thru the day. every preg is diff so anything can be normal depends on the person
aww u poor love i had it quite bad actually i was sick with major headache and went to hosp thinkin sumat was really wrong then boom i was found i was preg! my sickness was awful had it for bout 3 months straight and it got so bad i was in hosp for 3 days on a drip nothing the doc gave me worked thankfully tho my lil girl came into the world perfectly healthy, i didnt get diarrhea (i never kno how to spell that word!) but it different for each pregnancy
mine started a few weeks in to pregnancy and lasted until about 15-16 weeks, diarrhea is not as common as constipation, but it does happen. as long as the baby is healthy its fine. i still get it occasionally. as long as you stay hydrated and avoid dairy if thats your case as it triggers that as well. but as long as your not cramping badly with it then your ok.
diarrhea made me nervous because all you ever hear is constipation blah blah blah & I have had the worse diarrhea so far, and the whole time.
i’m 10 weeks.
Mine wore off about 4 months and then I was fine. Everything else is either just your body dealing with the hormones or a bug. That will wear off too. Keep going, you’ll get through it!
I had morning sickness until week 15.
I haven’t had diarrhea though, so i can’t help you with that.
My morning sickenss was an all day event just like yours. I was sick up until about 13 weeks. Usually it subsides when you go into your second trimester. I am currently almost 18 weeks and have not had any kind of nausea for about 5 weeks or so. I did find that switching my prenatal vitamins to 2 Flintstones chewables a day helped alot as well as any kind of fresh fruit, I bet I ate 2 pounds of grapes a day, but hey it kept the nausea to a minimum. As far as the diarrhea, mine comes and goes, first I was very constipated, then diarrhea, then normal. I know your diet does have alot to do with it. Best of Luck to you.
