Help! My Baby Is Sick What Can I Do?
Let me add some details first….. My grandmother, sister in law, brother in law, and myself had a stomach virus this week. I was sick Wednesday night. My mother took my 4 year old to her house. None of us ran a fever and it only lasted throughout the night. The next day we were all fine. Thursday my 4 year old woke up with a tummy ache and I thought he just had what we had. He never threw up and only had diarrhea twice. He has a high fever. It is up to 103.6 after tylenol. and is continually shaking. Still says his tummy hurts and complains of body aches. I called the Doctor and of course they have no appointments and I am waiting on a call back from the nurse. Should I just take him to the ER? I try to only use the ER if it is life or death, but I can’t take that my baby is feeling this bad. Suggestions please!
You’re doing the right thing. Wait for the nurse to call back. You would have to wait at the emergency room anyway, so wait and see what she tells you to do. Good luck. I hope you baby feels better soon.
give the baby some gatorade so he or she don’t dehydrate, then have the baby eat chicken soup, keep him or her warm if they are running a fever put less clothing on them run a cool bath and put the baby in it give the baby some moltrin and tylonal and keep it going until fever subsides.tylonal ever four hours moltrin every 8 hours
The him to ER rigth now!!! Don’t wait any longer before anything really bad happens to the baby… Babies don’t have an immune system built like adults, so don’t take him to the hospital when it’s a matter of life and death! Take him to the hospital whenever he is sick!
Shaking is a neurological symptom, which should always be taken seriously and be evaluated by a doctor ASAP. The child is also at risk for seizures d/t the high fever.
omg that sucks ya i would take him to the ER now cuz he may get really really sick if you dont
Just take him straight to ER. Never risk it with a baby.
