Green Diarrhea In 37th Week Of Pregnancy?! Is Labor Near?
2009 October 1
Has anyone experienced green bowel movements or diarrhea in their last few weeks of pregnancy? I’m a little concerned that maybe baby is in distress because I’ve heard of baby havinb meconium (1st bowel movement) in utero which could be harmful to both of us or is this a prelabor symptom (which would be great!)

Hi, well I’m 39 weeks will be 40 tomorrow and I too had diarrhea for the last too days, not green though. I call the labor room and they said that for some women this is the way for the body to get ready for labor, and as of meconium which i was worried about as well, just make sure the baby is moving as regular and he/she makes no extreme frantic movements which might be a way of the baby telling you he/she might be in distress, and when i say frantic i mean something you can’t ignore, dont go going crazy because you felt him/her move or kick you really hard, you should know the difference between movement. I was told that if it continued i should go in, try calling your labor room ans explain your symptoms they’ll do a better job at easing you mind.
Best of luck

antacids especially the liquid one like mylanta or maalox will do that if u drink to much. but the body is known to have diarrhea before going into labor but it still is not time table to when u r going in
The green color could be from iron supplements.
Diarrhea is a signal that your body is getting ready. But green, what did you eat? Spinach?
sounds like gallstones!
you do know that if meconium is present you wont poop it out right?? It’s probably something you ate turing your stool green and it just made it really loose. It’s normal to have diarrhea while your pregnant.
