Oh please don’t beat yourselves up over this, every parent learns through trial and error. I would stop adding whatever it is to your baby’s rice immediately and make sure you give them plenty of water to drink to keep them hydrated. Ask if you can have her allergy tested just to be on the safe side.
As for the Nappy rash apart from the usual creams you can use also fresh air is good so let baby lie on thier changing mat in between changes with no nappy on for a while and let the fresh air at the sore area.
Good luck and just keep an eye to baby any change take them straight to doctor or hosptial.
By sugar free do you mean a sugar substitute? Does the label say Nutrasweet? Aspartame? Phenylaninine?
If so, don’t ever do that again. Nutrasweet has been shown to cause tiny brain lesions in lab animals tested. It’s FDA approval remains highly controversial. Links to follow.
I would most definately give her as little to eat as possible. Plenty of rest and fluid to flush the toxins out of a tiny body. I would even suggest taking her to a natureopath or an alergy specialist and have her tested. They will safely and efficiently test her for any allergic reactions in addition to to artificial sugar. One another thing try not to beat yourself up over this , every parent makes mistakes it is all trial and error and God didn’t give parents a manual to work with children
Good Lick and God Bless.
I would stop the rice cereal immediately. Regarding sugar free, that usually means that there is an artificial sweetner in it. Your baby cannot have that!!! Go back to regular rice cereal and hopefully it will start to bind her up. Regarding the rash, my doc recommended mixing Balmex diaperrash cream and mylanta into a gooey paste and applying a lot to the rash. Keep a dry diaper on her, and depending how bad the rash is, it should clear up within a few days. FYI, diarrhea in a baby can be very dangerous!!! They can get severely dehydrated in a short amount of time, even if they are drinking fluids. Keep an eye on it and call the doc again if it doesn’t stop with a day or 2.
Be careful she doesn’t get dehydrated. If you think this might be the case, take her straight to hospital. Give her lots of water and some banana might help.
probably suffering from the introduction of a new food.
possibly an allergic reaction to it?
keep off the solids / weaning until baby has returned to normal self
as for nappy rash – metanium is superb for nappy rash and can be bought from most good chemists / supermarkets
Try Pedialyte. It’s a fruit drink made just for baby’s that have diarrhea. And I can tell you it work great because I gave it to my little girl every time she was cutting in new teeth because she would have diarrhea every time and it seemed to help her allot.
And as for the rash if the cream isn’t doing the job then you might want to see if a store around you has the Johnson and Johnson baby powder that has medicine in it and it’s yellow.
And they also make a night time rash cream.
I hope you little one get better soon.
Diarrhoea will be fine as long as you make sure you give your baby enough fluids. My baby had a diarrhoea for about 2 weeks and develop very bad nappy rash too. I took him to the doctor and was told that diarrhoea is fine and not a bad thing (it clears the baby digest system) as long as he have enough fluids. Important thing is the rashes, you have to cure it before it gets a infection. What you can do is every time your baby poo use warm water to gently wash it and do not use wipes anymore. Gently pat dry and allow it to wind dry, try not to use diapers now. What you can do is get a pieces of thin cloth to wrap around his/her bottom, just try your best to keep his/her bottom airy. It may get a bit messy when he/she poo but its the way to recover fast from the rashes. Rashes cause pain and infection.
